An evening of Indian Classical Music and Dance March 17

Join the South Alabama World Music Ensemble鈥檚 Indian group in celebrating the culture of the subcontinent with a musical and dance journey that explores expressions of art that transcend generations. The Indian Ensemble, led by Dr. S. Raj Chaudhury, University of South Alabama, will perform vocal music and will be joined by guest artist Nrithya Jagannathan from the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai India. Following the vocal portion of the concert, Nrithya will perform selections of Bharatanatyam, one of the most famous Indian classical dance traditions.
This event will take place in the University of South Alabama Laidlaw Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Admission to this Department of Music concert is free and open to the public. The Indian Ensemble of USA's Department of Music World Music Ensembles is available as a class for credit and also as a non-credit course to the community through South鈥檚 Center for Continuing Education.
